If you asked someone at the beginning of 2020 to predict challenges for the year ahead, there’s pretty much zero chance they would have guessed a pandemic, recession and one of the most intense elections in decades.
In the midst of it all, small business owners have worked to stay resilient and find new ways to grow, and today we’re pleased to share the 500 businesses selected as part of the capital and business coaching grant powered by Hispanics in Philanthropy’s PowerUp Fund.
In response to the economic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on Latino-owned small businesses, Ureeka and Hispanics in Philanthropy partnered to distribute cash grants of $5K each, totaling $3M, to 500 entrepreneurs across California, Texas and New York. The effort was funded by Google.org.
Additionally, each participant is paired with a Ureeka Coach for a 6-month exclusive coaching program created to help build skills focusing on company foundation, growing customers and financial stability – all of which will be essential in overcoming the economic downturn.
